The sun is slowly starting to show itself and with the excitement of Easter, who doesn’t love April?! We’ve had another busy month here at Merley House with parties, weddings and charity events!

5th April – Wedding

April’s first wedding was that of Mr and Mrs Bungay. The pastel shades of their wedding went perfectly with the colours of The Old Library. The whole décor looks upbeat and fun – exactly what a wedding day should be!

6th April – Murder Mystery 50th Party

Not everyone likes to stick to the usual party or dinner for their birthday celebrations; some people like to do something completely different! For her 50th birthday party, Karen wanted a Murder Mystery party!
Most of the credit has to go to Do A Murder Mystery for putting on a fantastic evening and thoroughly entertaining our guests!

7th April – Charity Lunch

Merley House is often host to work experience students and this time The Hospitality School students worked hard to put on a luncheon! The students spent time preparing and cooking food, setting up for the lunch, serving up the food and attending to guests. The students raised over £1000 and all the money was donated to Parkinson’s UK!

8th April – Charity Concert

CLIC Sargent is a fantastic charity that raises money to help young people in their fight against cancer. They work hard to provide the right support that is tailored individually to each young person. The support can range from helping arrange benefits the family are entitled to, coordinating care so that some procedures can happen in the comfort of the young person’s home or arranging accommodation in a CLIC Sargent Home from Home.

10th April – Wedding

On the 10th April, Mr and Mrs Sheering said I do! For their wedding, they decided to do something a little bit different! Their dog, Stevie was their ring bearer! He looked adorable in his little tux and was the star of the show!
The wedding décor included a beautiful sky blue which looked stunning against the white chairs and table linen! It also matched the beautiful weather on the day as well.

13th April – Wedding

Some colours aren’t the first you think of when it comes to wedding décor. Black is one of them but, though it is different, it looked striking and entirely unique! The black, purple and white looked elegant and sophisticated and we loved it! Mr and Mrs Sargent-Wyatt have great taste!

15th April – Wedding

This wedding was our first Kilt wedding of the year! The bride and groom looked incredible, luckily it wasn’t too windy! Thank you to Sophie Bowdler Photography for sharing this beautiful photo with us!
Mr and Mrs Wells’ wedding had a classic spring feel! The bright purple table sashes and beautiful flowers made the Old Library feel bright and cheery!

20th April – Wedding

Over the weekend, Merley House hosted another wedding! The colour scheme included pale yellow and pink, which complemented each other marvellously! Their wedding cake was intricately designed and kept in the pale pink theme.
Less is definitely more as proved by Mr and Mrs Jones with their simple yet stunning wedding!
And we’ve still got some events coming up this week! Hope you’ve had an April as fulfilling as the one at Merley House! Congratulations to all our married couples!
